Better Real Estate Experience

Based in Lancaster County, PA, we help sellers throughout Pennsylvania move confidently from “just thinking about it” to “SOLD.”

Selling Your Home in Lykens, PA

Lykens sits along US Route 209 in northern Dauphin County, about 14 miles east of Millersburg and 29 miles southwest of Pottsville, at the southern end of Wiconisco Township. Laid out in 1848 and named for pioneer settler Andrew Lycan, it grew up as an anthracite coal town.

Valley living, close to the woods

Lykens Glen Park offers more than 50 acres of green space along Rattling Creek, and hunting, hiking and fishing are part of everyday life in the valley. In town, the GAR Building stands on the National Register of Historic Places. Students attend the Upper Dauphin Area School District, which keeps its offices on Route 209 in Lykens and also serves Elizabethville, Gratz, Berrysburg and Pillow.

Who’s buying here

About 1,875 people live in the borough, with a median age around 44 and a little over a fifth of residents under 18. Roughly 62% of homes are owner-occupied — a steady, settled town. The countryside around Lykens is home to a well-established Amish community, with roadside stands and Amish markets dotting the valley. Plain families looking for farms, shops and land are a real part of the buyer pool, right alongside local families and young buyers looking for a first home.

Why auction in Lykens

A set sale date brings serious buyers out together, and open bidding lets the market — not guesswork — decide the price. Our team understands the Lykens Valley and how best to reach potential bidders, in town and out on the farms.

Intel Auctions has two auction methods, Live Auction and Intel Phone Bidding. Utilizing the Live Auction method gets all potential bidders onsite at your property. We then open the auction with a starting bid, after which each bidder can raise the bid as often as desired until each bidder has put in his maximum bid. Once the bidding is complete, the property is sold in “As – Is” condition to the winning bidder.

The Intel Phone Bidding Auction is managed just like the Live Auction, but the auction is done via phone bidding instead of on your property. The auctioneer manages the bids and lets callers know where the current high bid is at. Bidders can raise the bid as often as desired. Once all bidders have placed their highest bid, the Auctioneer sells the property in “As-is” condition to the winning bidder.

Intel Auctions handles all the details throughout the auction process including an attorney that prepares the conditions of sale.
