Selling Your Home in Adamstown, PA

Adamstown sits along Route 272 in northern Lancaster County, right at the Berks County line, about 18 miles from Lancaster and just south of Reading. Founded by William Addams on July 4, 1761, it’s an easy hop to US 222 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Antiques Capital, USA

Adamstown has long called itself the antiques capital of the country, and it earns the name — antique malls and markets line the stretch of Route 272 known as the Adamstown Antique Mile, with Sunday markets and seasonal outdoor shows drawing dealers and collectors from across the country. It’s also home to the Bollman Hat Company, the nation’s oldest hat maker. Closer to home, families enjoy the borough’s community pool and library and the annual Christmas tree lighting each December. Students attend the Cocalico School District, starting at Adamstown Elementary.

Who buys in Adamstown

Nearly 2,000 people live in the borough. More than a quarter are under 18, the median age is about 35, and more than four in five homes are owner-occupied — a family town where people buy and stay. Buyers here include local families moving up, commuters heading toward Reading, Lancaster or the Turnpike, and collectors and small-business owners drawn by the town’s steady weekend traffic.

Why auction in Adamstown

This is a town that already loves a good sale, and its buyers know how to bid. Our team knows this community and how best to reach potential bidders on both sides of the county line — through road signs along Route 272, regional papers and printed brochures.

Intel Auctions has two auction methods, Live Auction and Intel Phone Bidding. Utilizing the Live Auction method gets all potential bidders onsite at your property. We then open the auction with a starting bid, after which each bidder can raise the bid as often as desired until each bidder has put in his maximum bid. Once the bidding is complete, the property is sold in “As – Is” condition to the winning bidder.

The Intel Phone Bidding Auction is managed just like the Live Auction, but the auction is done via phone bidding instead of on your property. The auctioneer manages the bids and lets callers know where the current high bid is at. Bidders can raise the bid as often as desired. Once all bidders have placed their highest bid, the Auctioneer sells the property in “As-is” condition to the winning bidder.

Intel Auctions handles all the details throughout the auction process including an attorney that prepares the conditions of sale.
