Buying a property at auction is both fun and easy.

Here are a few things that might be helpful to know.

  1. Unlike a traditional listing, at an auction the high bid is fully disclosed, and you have multiple chances to raise it until you are the winning bidder.
  2. You do not need to pay a Finder’s Fee to a Realtor.
  3. You only need a down payment on Auction Day, and do not actually have to pay purchase price until settlement, usually 60 days from auction day. 
How does the auction process work?

The auctioneer will usually have a starting bid on the property. He will then open it to the crowd and let any prospective bidders raise the bid . If you wish to place a bid, you will raise your hand and a bidspotter will relay the bid to the auctioneer. The bidding continues until nobody advances the bid, at which the property is sold to the highest bidder.

Is there a Buyer's Premium added to sale price?

No, at an Intel Auctions sale you do not pay a Buyer’s Premium. If there is an auction where a Buyer’s Premium is charged, it will be announced prior to the auction.

Does the seller have a reserve price?


Yes, the seller can have a reserve price for his property. Intel Auctions will help
sellers determine a reserve price based on market value. Intel Auctions will never conduct a Real Estate auction if the seller has an unrealistic or unattainable reserve price on his property. Therefore bidders should attend an auction expecting a property to sell to the highest bidder.

Can the Auction company tell me what the property is worth?

Yes, Intel Auctions will be happy to share the expected selling price on a property.

Is there any information available about the property that I should read?

Intel Auctions will have a property brochure available for any Real Estate they have listed for auction.You can also view information and property pictures at Intelauctions.com. There is also a Seller’s Disclosure available for you to read prior to the auction. Please reach out to us for any of these materials. 

Do I need to register before the auction?

No, you do not need to pre-register to bid.

What forms of payment are accepted for the down payment?

The down payment must be a cashier’s check or a wire transfer initiated on day of sale.

Can I finance the property, or is it cash only?

Yes, you can finance the property. Typically the settlement is 45- 60 days from sale day to allow you the time needed to finalize the mortgage.

Do I need a Realtor to bid?

No, you do not need a realtor to bid. The Intel team is happy to answer any questions you have throughout the process, and will coach you to make the right choice for your family.

Can I inspect the property before the auction?

Yes, you are welcome to do a walk through of the entire property. Please reach out to Intel Auctions for available showing dates.

Can I bring someone with me to the auction?

Yes, you are welcome to bring anyone along to the auction that you wish.

Do I need to bring anything to the auction?

No, other than the down payment for the property, there is nothing that you need to bring along to the auction.

What time should I arrive?

Feel free to arrive an hour before the auction. You may wish to do a final walk-through, or have last minute questions for the Auction team.
